The 18th annual Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference sponsored by
California State University Northridge(CSUN) is well known as the largest gathering of
its kind in the world. This year, there attended 500 of groups and companies and thousands of
people from around the US and the world converged its event.
From Japan, two companies, we - the Nippon Telesoft co.,and Shinano Kenshi Co., joined as the exhibitor. Hundreds of people from Japan registered at the secretariat and they're inspecting attentively.
We - the Nippon Telesoft co., Ltd exhibited two Braille Printers: BPW-32 which can
emboss on the both sides of the paper at high speed and our latest product -
Gemini which improved for the American standard specification. As its great characteristic -
simultaneous print of Braille and Ink - created a sensation as demanding to use immediately
at the educational field. And also, gathered the strong interest from the state governments,
the municipal corporation and the volunteer groups.
And as it operates very quietly, it created a great sensation, too.
Since the 9.11's terrorism, the welfare industry was affected a negative influence. "Last year, the sales of the welfare industry of all the country dropped off 25%. And anxious about Iraq War could affect, too." said Mr. Tony Schenk, President, the Enabling Technologies, Florida.
