Nippon Telesoft participated in an academic conference titled “New Technologies and Emerging Professional Perspectives for the Visually Impaired” held in Rome, Italy, where it introduced products such as its latest braille display, Seika Plus 2.

The event was organized by the Lucia Foundation, an Italian organization for the visually impaired, and was held on February 13 and 14 with the support of the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Over the course of the two-day seminar, a variety of presentations and exhibitions were held. Mr. Tabata from the Japan Federation of the Blind introduced the Japanese school system for the visually impaired.
Professor Angé Luio gave a lecture on pedagogy in schools for the blind, while Mr. Goran, president of the Serbian Blind Association, spoke on “Independent Living for the Blind in Serbia.”

The event was attended by representatives from visually impaired organizations from across Italy, as well as Japanese individuals with visual impairments living in Italy.

Nippon Telesoft Participates in Sight Village in London — Braille Display Receives High Praise

Nippon Telesoft took part in Sight Village, a major assistive technology exhibition for the visually impaired held in London, UK, on November 5.
The company’s new braille display, Seika Mini Plus II, received high praise from attendees.

The event featured participation from 90 organizations from both the UK and abroad, covering a wide range of categories including audio equipment and services, braille technology, CCTVs, computers, daily living aids, and education and training.

Nippon Telesoft showcased the Seika Mini Plus II, highlighting its ability to house a built-in SIM card, allowing users to connect to the internet from virtually anywhere. Its mobile phone functionality and newly added features were particularly well-received.

Sales in the UK and other international markets are scheduled to begin early next year.

Nippon Telesoft Participates in SightCity 2024 Held in Frankfurt, Germany

Nippon Telesoft exhibited at SightCity 2024, held in Frankfurt, Germany, from May 15 to 17.
The event brought together over 100 companies specializing in assistive technologies for the visually impaired, presenting a wide range of devices and software. Approximately 5,000 participants, primarily from across Europe, attended the exhibition.

Nippon Telesoft has been participating in SightCity for over a decade. This year, the company showcased its range of braille displays and the braille printer GEMINI, which prints both braille and ink text simultaneously. The GEMINI printer attracted particular attention from educators, many of whom were eager to learn more about the product.

Among the braille displays, the newly released PC-integrated braille display and the Android-compatible Seika Mini V2, which supports SIM cards for standalone connectivity, drew strong interest, with many visitors expressing a desire to purchase.

Visitors to Nippon Telesoft’s booth came from countries including Poland, Kosovo, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Finland, Norway, Belgium, and South Africa. Discussions led to the signing of distribution agreements with representatives from these regions.

While manufacturers from China and South Korea had a larger presence this year, Nippon Telesoft was the only exhibitor from Japan. The exhibition featured numerous innovations, including advanced video magnifiers and white canes with embedded electronics, making for a highly productive and forward-looking event.
